New in this Release
Improvements for use of ADVIZOR Analyst with Internet Data
- IP address sorting: IP (Internet Protocol) addresses loaded as strings will now sort based on the numeric value of the IP address rather than in string sorted order. No configuration is necessary. This works for both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
- Time Zones in text file input: Date fields read from a text file containing a time zone specification may have the times converted either into the time zone on the local computer or to a single specified time zone. This is specified with the file "TimeZoneConversion.ini" that is located in the application installation directory. See that file for further information on use of this feature.
- HP Vertica: The HP Vertica database is now supported as an ODBC data source.
- subnet: The Expression Builder supports a new "subnet()" function that may be used to test if an IP address matches a CIDR specification. This may be used to map IP addresses to subnet names. See the "Expression Builder" topic in the User Guide for more information.
Browser Support
The ADVIZOR Server web client is implemented with a plugin (the Microsoft Silverlight plugin). Some browsers no longer support any plugins, including Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (in Windows 10). To support these browsers, a new HTML-based client is available. This client is automatically used with these browsers; the existing Silverlight-based client is used in all other browsers.
The new web client is not completely equivalent to the Silverlight-based client:
- The HTML client does not support the Flight Recorder.
- The HTML client does not allow the relative size of charts to be adjusted.
These deficiencies will be remedied in a future release.
Other New Features
- Horizontal zoom bars: Data Sheets and Summary Sheets now have an optional horizontal zoom bar that can be used to pan the contents of the window or expand or contract the width of columns. The horizontal zoom bar is turned on by default, and it is scaled to fully show all columns. Two properties are available in the Property Explorer for these charts to control the operation of the horizontal zoom bar. "Display X axis zoom bar" controls whether the horizontal zoom bar is visible. If there will always be enough space to fully see the data in all columns, turn off the zoom bar with this option so that it does not use screen space. "Show Full Columns", if "true", zooms the X axis so that all data in all columns is visible. Set this to false if you want a manually-set zoom factor to be maintained.
Projects must be re-published to ADVIZOR Server to see horizontal zoom bars on Data Sheets or Summary Sheets.
- Case independent geocode matching: Maps can now match geocode names independent of case. In some cases the geocode names in your data use case inconsistently. Choosing this option from the Map Wizard when configuring the map causes name lookup to be done independent of case. This is done by introducing an upper case version of the geocode field.
- Parabox performance: Performance improvements have been made to the Parabox.

Known Problems and Hints
- On Windows 10 with a scaled display, the ADVIZOR Analyst window may be corrupted when the window is resized. This can be remedied using "Compatibility Mode". The the "Troubleshooting" section of the Implementation Guide (referenced above) for a procedure to use to fix this problem.
- Projects must be re-published to ADVIZOR Server to see horizontal zoom bars on Data Sheets or Summary Sheets.
- Models built with versions of ADVIZOR AnalystX before R6.4 are not supported. Please note the configuration of your model and re-create it.
- All projects must be be re-published to ADVIZOR Server for versions predating R6.1.
- See the ADVIZOR Implementation Guide (referenced above) if you are using adv2advm.
- Only install ADVIZOR Server to the default location on the "C" drive. Installing to another location will cause publishing to the server to not work.
- Existing Navigation Panes must be migrated from HTML format to RTF. If you originally created the Navigation Panes in Microsoft Word (or another text editor that will also write RTF files), you can re-write the files and then go to the Page Properties dialog in ADVIZOR Analyst and load the new file. If you do not have the source files, you can create them like this:
- Go to each Navigation Pane in ADVIZOR Analyst.
- Right click in the Navigation Pane and select "Select All" from the popup menu. Right click again and select "Copy" from the popup menu. This copies the current pane contents to the system clipboard.
- Open a text editor such as Microsoft Word and paste from the clipboard.
- Save the pane contents to a file of type "RTF".
- Go to the Page Properties in ADVIZOR Analyst for each page with Navigation Panes and load the new files.
- If you are using Microsoft Word, make sure that the Paragraph format has 0 points of space before and after paragraphs; other specifications are not followed when the text is displayed in ADVIZOR Analyst.
- Only insert images that are in standard image formats such as PNG, GIF, or JPEG. Other formats may not appear if the Navigation Pane is published to ADVIZOR Server.
